Spring Bike Week 2012

Spring bike week in Myrtle Beach has become a yearly trip for us and friends! This year was no different, we packed up and went to the coast for a very long extended weekend. While I was already at the beach and seeing sunny skies...

...Ray and Gabe were NOT

We were eagerly waiting for them to arrive though, SO much that somehow it became a great idea to hang out in the hotel parking lot to wait for them. We got booted out of the parking lot because so many people were checking in so instead of choosing...say they Pool, we went across the street?! You never know what will happen when you are with this group!

There was apparently a hurricane off the coast, but you wouldn't have known because we never got rain. It was cloudy but no rain!

Friday felt a lot like Saturday to everyone but the good news was it WASN'T!! We rode down to the Harley store and I have to say I was very surprised at how many bikes were there. This picture doesn't even do it justice, this is a tiny portion of the parking lot.

After a long afternoon on the bikes we stopped for a beer and were on our way back to the hotel to clean up for dinner.

I am in love with this view, I can only hope that one day it could be an everyday kind of view. *dreaming* wouldn't that be awesome!

Saturday was a full day, from Barefoot Landing to Murrell's Inlet to my favorite biker place... Suck Bang and Blow, the ultimate biker burnout bar!

We saw very interesting people, which I promptly made my husband pose with as an excuse to get their picture without feeling awkward. I hate that feeling when someone catches you secretly taking a picture of them...

...and some very interesting "homemade" bikes
It was a fantastic weekend! We are already looking forward to Fall bike week!

Just another day in the Park

Last week I had the wonderful pleasure of spending the day with my granddaughter, Tylee. We started the day with big plans to play in the sprinkler outside with Bali! Tylee had her sunglasses on and was ready to run. We turned the sprinkler on and no more than a minute later the water shut off. Talk about timing from the City of Columbia. Apparently there was a huge water main break in Irmo and that affected us all, so I got a very sad face asking "Where did the water go MiMa?"
So we improvised and went to the park for a nature walk and pick flowers for CiCi and Kerri.

We found some "baby" strawberries growing wild

After the park we went back home in high hopes that the water would be back on, but we were still without and dying of thirst so we stopped by the fruit stand at the end of the street for a beautiful watermelon for a snack!

After such a long day you would think we were tired, but we cleaned up and counted down the time until Elizabeth came to play! They girls were so good and ate all their dinner and burned off any extra energy they managed to still have by having a dance party to Sandstorm in the living room. Daddy even joined the girls for this dance party! Pardon the blurry pictures but trying to take pictures with my phone of them running in circles, this was only to be expected!
It was a long day, but a fun day! I so much enjoy these days with my sweetheart! They may be far between but we pick right back up where we left off! :)

A day with CiCi

We were so excited to have a week visit with Tylee! She spent most of the day Tuesday with my mom or CiCi, Van and Toby! Tylee adores CiCi and was so excited to plant flowers, water ALL the flowers (twice), blow bubbles and ride the golf cart with Toby. Here are some of the pictures from their day!

Honky Tonk Weekend

This past weekend Ray and I headed up to Nashville for Brittany and Will's wedding. We shook things up a bit and had my Mom and Van join us for a Honky Tonk Weekend! Usually I am the one seeing the sights for the first time when we travel, mostly because Ray has just been so many places but this time I was able to help him show them around! We had the best time just hanging out and walking through downtown.
Friday we took our time getting there and stopped off in Gatlinburg to take in the views from the Skylift. We even acted the tourist role and stopped at a "viewing" area off the Blue Ridge Parkway to take pictures of the mountains.

Saturday we started the day early with Little Miss Tylee!! We were so excited to all see each other, I looked over at Tylee in the car and she was just looking at everyone smiling. We hung out while everyone got dressed, surprisingly the girls were the first ones ready.

We played Cinderella on the Carousel at the Mall...

Made the whole isle at the mall come to a shrieking halt when we saw Hello Kitty...

Was a little unsure when we saw King Julian, but thrilled to have seen Brobee and Plex in real life! Tylee waived and made sure they told her hello!

After such a long day we were a little pooped...

...But it was only a short while until Brittany and Will's wedding! We all headed back so we could get cleaned up and changed for Brittany's big day!

I managed to snag a family picture before they headed over to the Chapel!

I know Brittany had a great day and she looked beautiful, I will post a few pics when we get some!

Three years ago I woke up to a scene that much more resembled a scene from the Hangover movie; Thirsty, a little hungry and definitely kicking myself in the behind for drinking too much at our "pre-wedding party" poolside the night before. But then I turned over to the most handsome man greeting me with a smile telling me how excited he was to be my husband in 8 hours. Somehow that made the day so much brighter!
I spent the day with all my girls and Ray spent the day fishing off the pier with his boys.
The boys watching the video I put together for Ray as a wedding gift.

Three years ago we said "I Do" to each other and vowed to love and cherish each other everyday. Life is never what you plan of it, it is so much better.

Life shouldn't be taken too seriously when you get to spend everyday with your best friend. I look back on the past three years of marriage so excited for what our long life together has in store, but also a little anxious because it is going by so quickly. Being in the moment you never want to end is so lovely in so many ways!

Happy Anniversary to the amazing man who taught me what it meant to truely love and be loved!

Never Stop Improving

Since Easter Ray and I have been trying to "fix up" the front yard. Our house sat for two years without any owners so the lawn is in some desperate need of a little TLC. We called in the big guns and hired a lawn service to help with the fact that half of our lawn is "sick" and the other half is just having a hard time growing. We'll see how that works! Funny how the back yard, that no one sees, is doing awesome! LOL!
I won't bore you with the details but it's been kind of nice just hanging out with my husband and trying our hand at growing something! :)

BEFORE - Well kind of before, picture dead grass where that dirt is!

AFTER - Can't wait to smell those gardenia's when they bloom!
Ray has been working some pretty long hours lately so big kudo's to him for all his help digging holes after dark for plants and cutting the grass at the crack of dawn.

I know I have been pretty lack on blogging lately but that is just because we haven't been doing much worth writting about other than my thrilling post above on our weekend yard improvments! :)

Here's a catch up with a Weekend Phone Dump!
